Salad Spinner Painting

SANY3180 I’ve done this off and on over the years, but never thought to post about it, figured most others were also doing this. At a recent workshop found out that wasn’t the case.

So simple. All you need is: a salad spinner, paper cut to fit it, paint and willing children. My $8 spinner -SANY3179 mine even locks, but not necessary. I do wash out regularly as the paint does collect on the outer container. I have found that a crank handle turning spinner is much easier and more fun to use than the push/plunger kind of spinner.

We are always trying different placement of our paints, different amounts, and different thicknesses. That’s part of the fun. Another great thing is you can start, check and add more until you get what you want.

We use the finished pieces for collage work, hang as is, cut out shapes (trees, bears, butterfly wings), and to trace handprints on.
